Anyone that works for a print company that sells brochures will tell you the final cost of the brochure “depends.” There are times when you can get an immediate brochure pricing answer such as a price range or a cost tied to an example. There are also many times you will not get a brochure printing cost answer because you need to wait for a quote or get a quote online at their website.

To help you get a better idea about the cost of brochures, we have pulled together our average costs for brochures in order to compare them to other print companies across the United States. In general, we found you can expect to pay anywhere between $0.01 to $10.50 per brochure (depending on the order quantity and finishing options).

Let’s take a look at the different variables that can affect the cost of your brochures.

Brochure Quantity

As a brochure pricing example, here is a table of costs for 11 x 25.5 Double Sided White Uncoated 60# Paper

Brochure QuantityPrice Per Unit
25$4.60
250$1.02
500+$0.78

Brochure Size

Keep in mind that the size of your brochure can impact the final price. In general, the larger the brochure, the more it will cost to print. The larger each individual piece, the greater the number of press sheets it will require to produce. You can try and choose a different type of paper or total print quantity to lower the price.

If you are looking for a more economical option, use smaller piece sizes because they can be pieced together with other projects (that are also smaller sizes) to fill a press sheet and use less paper.

In addition, the use of standard sizes can lower costs since many print companies are often set-up to print these sizes. Custom print sizes require additional labor which contributes to a higher cost.

Paper Weight / Stock

When it is time to choose the paper for your brochure project, the total price varies based on the paper weight or stock. The cost will be higher if you use paper that is heavier/thicker than more commonly used paper stock.

Take a look below to discover some of the paper weights commonly used for brochures:

  • 70 lb. Text
  • 80 lb. Text
  • 100 lb. Text
  • 80 lb. Cover
  • 100 lb. Cover

Keep in mind the heavier weight will result in a higher price (even though they are commonly used for brochure printing).

Brochure Folds & Cuts

Many businesses like to put a creative spin on their brochures. One of the easiest ways to be creative with the design is utilizing folds, die-cutting or other unique, custom cuts to enhance the appearance of the brochure.

While folds can have an appearance that is simple or standardized (such as bi-fold or tri-fold designs), there are also custom folds that require a more complex set-up.

Die-cuts can be printed using standard approaches (depending on the print company) but there are also many cases where the design must be custom-made to achieve the desired result. Overall, the greater the custom design for the brochure, the higher the cost will be for the final product.

Brochure Design

You might have the necessary skills to design your own brochure and are simply looking for someone to print it for you. However, if you do not already have access to a design resource, print companies have graphic designers on staff who are able to create the design for your brochure. Whether you are looking for an image with text, a fully illustrated design or a complex cut and fold piece, the graphic designers can collaborate with you to create and design the brochure.

The downside is that these design services normally require you to pay an additional cost. The actual design service cost varies by the complexity of the design. You can normally expect to pay anywhere from $75-$150 an hour for the design or you can have the project scoped and this cost is in the $300-$1350 range.

As you can see from the information above, pricing for a brochure depends on the decisions you make regarding the final quantity, the paper stock you use during the printing process, any finishing options and how much help you need in creating the design. If a total lower cost is your goal, you should choose “standard options” when possible. If the overall price is not a concern for your budget, choose custom design options to get the results you desire.
